Ricardo N. Ramirez, PhD
Ricardo N. Ramirez, PhD, is a genomic scientist and data science leader with deep expertise in epigenetics, computational biology, immunology, and gene editing technologies. He earned his PhD at the University of California, Irvine, where he integrated epigenomic profiling and computational modeling to map gene regulatory networks underlying human myeloid differentiation, contributing to both the ENCODE and STATegra consortia.
He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School, shifting his focus to adaptive immunity. There, he investigated regulatory T cells and the transcription factor FoxP3, uncovering how 3D chromatin architecture shapes lineage-specific gene expression, and served as an active member of the ImmGen consortium.
Ricardo later joined a Boston-based biotech startup as a Data Science lead, directing genomic specificity and safety assessments for next-generation epigenetic medicines advancing toward the clinic.
He is now the founder of a data science consulting practice, partnering with biotech companies and non-profit foundations to drive drug discovery efforts, computational modeling, and the analysis of complex multi-omic datasets.
